Introduction to Money Management

Maine Center for Women, Work and Community is offering an introductory workshop for individuals interested in learning about tools that can help with basic money management. In this workshop we will discuss topics such as budgeting, needs/wants, savings goals, and credit. Please come if you are interested in “getting on track” with your money! Series runs June 12, 19, 26, July 10, 17, and 24. This class will focus on a deep muscle and cardiovascular workout. Some familiarity with bellydancing movements is helpful, but not required. Foot Health for Walking

Sponsored by our Trekkers Club - Walking is such great exercise for everyone, but common foot problems can put a cramp in your exercise program. Come learn what you can do about problems such as foot and ankle arthritis, bunion and toe problems, diabetic foot conditions, numbness, burning, and other common foot problems. Recommendations will be shared for the proper footwear and athletic shoes or sneakers. Presented by podiatrist Dr. Maurice Gardner. Held at the Auburn Mall, west end court. No registration necessary.

Radon and Lung Cancer: Get the Facts

Part of our Entrées to Health Series -You think you’ve done all the right things to prevent lung cancer: you eat well, you don’t smoke, and you exercise regularly, but have you ever checked your home for radon? Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that the EPA estimates is responsible for 21,000 cases of lung cancer in the US each year. Come to a presentation given by Maine State Toxicologist, Dr. Andrew Smith, and find out more about this household danger and how you can protect yourself and your family. Sponsored in partnership with St. Mary’s Chest Oncology Program. Held at the Lepage Conference Center on Campus Avenue in Lewiston, the session will begin at 5:30 pm. A healthy meal will be served.
